Obituary of Henry Goeke Waukon Republican-Standard Feb. 19. 1931

HENRY GOEKE FUNERAL SUNDAY
Resident Of This County For 58 years Died Wednesday , Aged 74

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon from the Ben Ludeking home and at two o'clock at the Zion Reformed church for Henry Goeke, who passed away last Wednesday after a lingering illness of over a year. Rev. Stucki conducted the services. Burial was made in Oakland cemetery.

Mr. Goeke was born in Manotowoc, Wisconsin in 1857, and was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Goeke, now deceased. He came to Allamakee county in 1873 and settled in Ludlow township. Mrs. Goeke was married in 1882 to Caroline Krieger, and they resided in Ludlow township until 1917, when they moved to Waukon. He followed the occupation of a carpenter. Mrs. Goeke preceded him in death and he has since made his home with his daughter.

He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Benjamin Ludeking of this city, and one son, Edward Goeke of Postville. He is also survived by five brothers and one sister namely: Charles and Ernest Goeke of Baxter, Iowa, Lewis and Fred Goeke of this city, Conrad Goeke of Postville and Mrs. Lena Meier of Fairbury, Nebraska.

Out of town relatives who attended the funeral were Charles Goeke of Baxter, August Krieger of Buffalo Center, Aldrich Ludeking of Woden, Iowa and Mr. and Mrs. L. M. Jackson of Keota, Iowa.
