Goeke-- At his residence in Ludlow twp., June 29, 1895, Mr. Louis Goeke aged 69 years, 2 months and 3 days.

Mr. Goeke was born April 26, 1826 in Lippe, Detmold, Germany and emigrated with his parents to Centerville, Manitowoc county, Wis., in 1848, being one of the first settlers of that county. He was married to Louisa Hager in 1850. She died May 23, 1891. Nine sons and one daughter were born to them. He joined the Reform Church at the age of 14 years and when he moved to Iowa joined the Presbyterian church, 21 years ago by letter. He was a kind husband and father, a good neighbor and citizen. A very large number attended his funeral at the Presbyterian church in Ludlow on Sunday p.m., the service being conducted by Rev. R. L. Vannice and Rev. Buetell of the Ludlow Presbyterian church.
