Mrs. Emma (Jarms) Schlitter was born in Giard Township on December 16, 1883* and died at her home near Watson April 7, 1911 at the age of 28 years, three months and 22 days. On September 27, 1900 she was united in marriage to William Schlitter. She leaves to mourn her death, her husband and 5 small children, one child preceded her in death. She also leaves a mother and two sisters, Mrs. J.A. Muller of Plankington, South Dakota and Magdaline at home. She was a loving, faithful wife and mother. She will be missed not only by relatives but by all who knew her. Funeral services were held at Watson Evangelical Church conducted by Rev. Rabe and Rev. Epply of Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin. interment was in the Council Hill Cemetery at Watson, Iowa.

*Note from the transcriber: Her birth year as listed in the obituary is an error. She is buried at the Council Hill Cemetery and the cemetery records show that she was born in 1882. 1882 is also the date shown on the tombstone. The names of her children were: Elsie, Fredrick, Herbert, Clarence Theodore (he is the infant who died - born January 10, 1908 and died February 10, 1908), Floyd, and Lester. Lester was four weeks old when his mother passed away.
