Obituary: Waukon Republican July 10, 1912
Mrs. Hermine Dravis, nee Rumph, was born in Germany February 6th, 1834, where she spent the days of her youth and school days. She was instructed in the faith of the Reformed church, of which she was a faithful member until she joined (as we have reason to believe) the church triumphant.
She was married to Charles H. Dravis June 28, 1857. Her husband died in April 1895. Their union was blessed with eight children one of whom preceded her to the life beyond. She is survived by the seven children, 20 grandchildren and one brother.
She died July 3, after an illness of nearly eight months having reached the ripe age of 78 years. She was the last of the charter members of the Reformed church in this community.
She was a devoted mother, who delighted in God's word and conversation in spiritual things and was waiting with uplifted head for her Lord Jesus, who had given himself for her, that he might take her to the home where weeping and sorrow and sighing shall cease. Some time ago she asked her pastor to use a certain text for her funeral sermon to which he consented.
The funeral services were held Friday at the Reformed church conducted by Rev. Vornholt.
