Mary Irene (Melavin) O'Brien born 05 Jun 1912 died 28 Dec 2013. Mary was born in Iowa City, Iowa. Mary Irene died in Dubuque, Iowa. Mary's Father was Thomas Cavanaugh and her mother was Alberta Melavin. Mary Irene was raised by her Grandmother Josephine Melavin. At the age of 10 years old Mary and Josephine moved to Harpers Ferry. Mary Irene Joined the U.S. Navy in 1944-1946 (WAVES). Mary Irene joined with her sister Mary Elizabeth(Cavanaugh)Ohm [Obit posted 8/22/2013]. Mary Irene had a brother Paul Cavanaugh [obit posted 03/02/2008]. All had Thomas Cavanagh as Father and Alberta Melavin as Mother. Mary Irene Melvin married Raymond Cyril O'Brien 27 Jul 1947 in St Ann's Church, Harpers Ferry, Iowa.
