HARRY BOARDMAN

Harry J. Boardman, 77, of La Crosse and formerly of Harpers ferry, Iowa, died Thursday, March 30, 1989, at his home.

He was born August 22, 1911, in Harpers Ferry to Douglas and Martha Valley Boardmen. he married Amy R. Kernan on August 2, 1938, at Wexford, Iowa.

He worked for Allis Chalmers in La Crosse for 23 yaers and was amintenance man for Surf Lounge in La Crosse. he was a World War II Army veteran and a member of the La crosse American Legion Post.

Surviving are his wife, Amy; a daughter, Rosemary Boeck of Chicago; two granddaughters; two sisters, fern Peterson of Stoddard and Leonette Kendhammer of La Crosse; two brothers, Mark of Harpers Ferry and Lester of La Crosse.
He was predeceased by three sisters and a brother.

Funeral serives were held Monday at the Schumacher-Kish Funral Home in La crosse and at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church with the Rev. Lawrence B. Berger officiating. Burial was in St Joseph's Cemetery, Harpers Ferry, with the Harpers Ferry and La Crosse Honor Guards Providing military honors.
