Postville Review, Fri., 18 Dec. 1914. (condensed).

The people of Postville and vicinity were grieved to learn last Sunday morning that Mrs. Geo. W. Harris had died during the night, few knowing of her illness. She was among the oldest residents of this locality, a woman possessed of many good qualities of head and heart, whose friends were as numerous as the circle of her acquaintance was wide. And to those who mourn her loss goes out in fullest measure sympathy as boundless as it is sincere.

Sarah Ellen, youngest daughter of John and Jane Laughlin, was born near Postville, Iowa, Dec. 14, 1855, and died at her home northeast of this city Dec. 13, 1914, aged 58 years, 11 months and 30 days. Her death followed a long and severe illness which she bore both patiently and cheerfully, always thinking of others before herself.

She was married to George W. Harris, May 4, 1878. To this union were born six children - Warner, Nina, Gerald, Hazel, Roger and Mabel.

She was a member of the U.B. church and an active and faithful worker in the cause of Christ. A good wife, mother and friend to all. Many will miss her, especially at Christmas time, when she found it a pleasure to remember the less fortunate ones among her wide circle of acquaintances.

She leaves to mourn, her husband, two sons and three daughters - Warner Harris, Gerald Harris, Mrs. Arthur Swenson. Mrs. Loney Folsom and Mrs. Richard Folsom, all of this place. Also two brothers - John H. Laughlin and James R. Laughlin, and a sister - Mrs. Elizabeth Riddle, and 11 grandchildren. Her son Rodger preceded her in death, having died July 8, 1898, also a brother Robert, and two sisters, Anna and Mary Jane.

The funeral was held from the Bethel U. B. church Tuesday. Interment in Minert cemetery.
