Albert “Abbie” Protsman, 85, of Lansing, died on Saturday morning, December 20, at the home of his son, Lawrence “Dutch” Protsman. He had been in failing health for the past few years.

He was born on March 11, 1895 in De Soto, Wisconsin to Albert and Angeline (Lankford) Protsman. He married Fern Belle Sandry, who preceded him in death in 1973.

He was a veteran of World War I. He is survived by three sons, Lawrence of Lansing, Norbert of New Albin, and Albert Jr. of Colorado Springs, Colo.; a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Alvina) Yohe of Houston, Minn.; 15 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Monday, December 22, at the Burke-Thornburg Funeral Home. The Rev. Tom Mattson officiated and burial was in the Mays Prairie Cemetery. Military rites were conducted by Beck-Strong- Glynn American Legion Post of Lansing.

Pallbearers were Doyle Bennett, Myron Krambeer, Jerry Hanley, Kenneth Hanson, Robert Smith and Lloyd Welsh.
