Died, at Garner, Iowa, June 6, 1903, Mrs. Lucy A. Easton, aged 80 years, 10 months and 8 days.

Lucy Augusta Bulkley was born in Warren Co., New york, 28 Aug. 1822. She was married in 1845 to Avery Babcock, of Martinsburg, Lewis Co., NY. Of this union three daughters and one son were born. Mr. Babcock died in 1854. Two daughters, Mrs C. T. Prescott and Mrs. T. B. Easton, have years ago passed on. The two remaining children are H. E. Babcock and Mrs. A. C. Ripley, both of Garner, Iowa.

She was married to Harvey Easton of Postville, Iowa, in Martinsburg, NY., in 1861, and they moved soon after to Waukon, then to Postville, where Mr. Easton died in 1881. For the last 18 years she has made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Ripley. Besides her own, there are surviving five step-children, many grand and great-grandchildren who mourn the loss of a loving and tender parent. A brother, Dr. J. Lyman Bulkley, resides in Brooklyn, NY.

Mrs. Easton was a lifelong christian, quiet and unassuming. She gave freely of her time, means and strength, to aid in all departments of church work. She had a deep interest in national and foreign christian and secular affairs. Her general knowledge was such that she was often relied on for facts in foreign missionary work which others could not give. She was a member of the Foreign Missionary Society of the M.E. church.

The funeral was held from the Postville M.E. church, where she belonged for many years, her remains laid to final rest in her family lot.

Mr. A. C. Ripley, their daughter, Mrs. Caswell, and Mrs. J. E. Wichman accompanied the remains to Postville.
