Services Held For Mary Boese

Funeral services for Mary Boese, 74, were held Saturday, May 10, 1980, 11 a.m. at the Schutte Funeral Home in Postville with the Rev. David R. Nelson officiating. Burial was in the Postville Cemetery.

Mary Boese, daughter of Joseph and Mary (Miene) Freeman, was born October 2, 1905 in Clayton County, Iowa. She died May 7, 1980 at Community Memorial Hospital, Postville.

She received her education in the Pioneer District, Farmersburg Township rural schools. October 5, 1924 she was married to William Boese at LaCrosse, Wis. They lived in the Postville area all their lives.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, in 1951, a daughter, Florence, 2 brothers, Rudy and Joseph; and 2 sisters, Mabel and Ella.

She is survived by 6 sons: Kenneth of Colorado Springs, Colo.; Allan of Houston, Texas; Charles of Decorah; Keith, Merlin and Gene of Postville; a daughter, Marion Reierson of Postville; 8 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; a brother, John Freeman of Chinok, Mont. and 2 sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Boese of Postville and Mrs. Linda McCollock of Yankton, South Dakota.

Submitters note: The deceased sisters: Mabel was married to a Steele; Ella is Olive who was married to an Erickson. Her sister Linda's name is either McCollock or McColloch.
