Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. last Thursday at the Community Presbyterian Church in Postville for Mrs. Julia Bollman, 98, Postville's oldest resident. The Rev. Robert Reynolds, pastor of the Frankville Presbyterian Church, was in charge of the rites. Burial was in Postville cemetery.

Julia Ann Leithold Bollman, daughter of Frank and Ann Leithold, was born on a farm in Ludlow township on March 26, 1861. She received her education in the rural schools and also in Waukon.

She was married to Frank Bollman of Frankville on March 14, 1888. They resided on Mr. Bollman's farm, north of Postville, until March, 1904. At this time, they moved into Postville, where they spent their remaining years. Mr. Bollman passed away in 1943. Mrs. Bollman lived alone until 1947, when her niece and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Lyman Olson came to care for her.

Both Mr. and Mrs. Bollman were members of the Community Presbyterian Church of Postville.

She was preceded in death by 3 brothers, George, Albert and Henry Leithold; and 2 sisters, Katherine Leithold Britain and Margarett Leithold Kendall. She leaves to mourn her passing a number of nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

Relatives and friends from a distance attending the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Curtis Bollman of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; Mr. and Mrs. James Drew of Waukesha, Wisconsin, Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Bollman of Decorah, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Gibbs and Bud Mullaney and children of Mason City, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Olson of Fort Dodge, Mr. and Mrs. A. A. Britain and Leslie and Harold Leithold of Waukon, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Britain and Mr. and Mrs. James Sires of Marshalltown, Mr. and Mrs. Ingeman Larson of Waterville, Mr. and Mrs. Lowell Britain of Hawkeye, Otis Britain and son of Spring Grove, Minnesota and Dorothy Lawless of Waterloo.
