Frank Bollman Rites Being Held Today

Lifelong Resident Passes Early Monday Morning

Frank Bollman, 82, a lifelong resident of this community, passed away at his home in this city Monday morning at 1 p.m. following a long period of failing health. Funeral services are being held this afternoon at 3 p.m. in the Community Presbyterian church with the Rev. Lehr H. Newhouse officiating and interment will be in Postville cemetery.

Mr. Bollman was born on a farm near Postville on October 31, 1860, the son of Henry and Adeline Bollman. He grew to manhood here and on March 14, 1888, he was united in marriage to Julia Leithold, whose home was near Waukon.

The couple lived for many years on their farm 5 miles north of Postville and moved to this city in 1904. He united with the Methodist church at Frankville in 1894, later transferring his membership to the church in Postville. Mr. Bollman was among the first members of the Community church in which for many years he served as an elder and Sunday School officer.

He is survived by his wife; 2 sisters, Mrs. Harry Winter of Des Moines and Mrs. John Mullaney of Mason City; one brother, Harry Bollman of Frankville, and a number of nieces and nephews.
