Miss Bridget Clarity passed away at her home in Postville last Friday afternoon following a brief but acute spell of sickness. She was born in Ludlow township, Allamakee county, Iowa, Jan. 6, 1858, the eldest child of Anthony and Catherine Clarity, and at the time of her death was aged a little more than 75 years. All her life was spent in the county of her birth. In her younger years she was a rural school teacher of acknowledge capabilities, giving up these duties to care for her aged parents to whose comfort she contributed most tenderly and thoughtfully until their demise.

For several years past Miss Clarity has lived in Postville, where she made a home for her brother Michael. Deceased was a devout Catholic and died fortified by the rites of the church. She was held in high esteem by al who knew her, and her passing is the occasion of may expressions of regret. She is survived by three brothers, James and Michael of this city, and Judge A.J. Clarity of Freeport, Ill.

The funeral was held from St. Bridget's Catholic church in this city at 9 o'clock on Monday morning, Rev. Father Hogan officiating. Interment was made in the family plot in the cemetery at Waukon.
