Relatives and friends living in Allamakee County received word that Miriam (Koontz) Rysdyk, daughter of Earl and Faye (Watkins) Koontz, died Tuesday, July 6, 1999 of a massive heart attack in Chuluota, Florida. Miriam was born in Allamakee County on October 25, 1928 and attended local schools. In 1947 she married Otto Rysdyk, Jr. in Grand Rapids, Michigan where they had lived until they moved to Chuluota, Florida after retiring.

Miriam was preceded in death by her husband and a son-in-law. Her ashes and her husband's ashes will be interred in a cemetery in Deltona, Florida.

She is survived by her daughter Miriam Murray, 2 sons, Robert Rysdyk, and Mark Rysdyk, and 4 grandchildren.

NOTE: Miriam's paternal grandparents were Moses Andrew Ross Koontz and Myra Mae(Washburn)Koontz of Rossville, Iowa and her maternal grandparents were George Watkins and Agnes (Mills) Watkins of Waukon, Iowa. Her paternal uncles were Sidney Koontz, Lloyd Koontz, and Curtis Koontz.
