Funeral services for Leslie Joseph Steiber, age 91, of Lansing, Iowa will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 18, 1998 at the United Methodist Church in Lansing, Iowa with the Rev. Tom Mattson officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery with Burke-Thornburg Funeral Home handling the arrangements.

Leslie Joseph Steiber, son of Herman and Anna (Lenz) Steiber, was born November 22, 1906 in Lansing, Iowa. He lived his entire life on a farm south of Lansing. On February 28, 1928 he married Ethel Sandry and they farmed together. She died August 13, 1969. Leslie and Myrna (Schulze) Donohue were united in marriage on February 28, 1971. He was a member of the United Methodist Church. He served on the board of Thornton Manor Care Center, was active in the Senior Citizens and was on the Lansing Beautification Committee.

Leslie Joseph Steiber died Saturday, March 14, 1998 at his home in rural Lansing, Iowa. In addition to his wife, Ethel, he was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Raymond Steiber and Donald Steiber, and two daughters, Rita Mae Steiber and Marguerite Hill.

Leslie is survived by his wife, Myrna of San Antonio, Texas, a son, Dale (Shirley) Steiber of Lansing, Iowa, 2 daughters, Arlene (Bill) Doyle of Union City, California and Elaine (Daniel) Whiles of Anaheim, California; 15 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren; 1 sister, Helen Schulze of Waukon, Iowa and a sister-in-law, Irene Steiber of Lansing, Iowa.
