Dean Arthur Herrmann, 50, of Waukon, died suddenly Tuesday, December 1 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. Funeral services were held Friday, December 4 at 1 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home in Waukon, IA, with Rev. David E. Schafer officiating. Burial was in the Postville Cemetery, Postville, IA.

Dean Arthur Herrmann was born April 25, 1948 in Postville, IA. His parents were Arthur and Vila (Schnuelle) Herrmann. He attended Ludlow #7 and Castalia schools. Dean did a variety of work for several area farmers. He enjoyed fishing and visiting with relatives.

Dean is preceded in death by his parents, and infant sister, Ferlene, and his brother, Curtis Mathis. Survivors include a brother, Dale (Debbie) Herrmann of Waukon, a sister, JoAnn (Brian) Winke of Cedar Rapids, his step-father, Morris Mathis and sister-in-law Laurie (Kevin) Hoisington, both of Waukon, 6 nieces and one nephew.

Casket bearers were Charles Schnuelle, Arthur Ihde, Clinton Schnuelle, Allan Schnuelle, Jim Magner and Jerry Schnuelle.
