Funeral services for Robert Eugene Perry, age 83, of Waukon, Iowa were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 9 at St. John's Lutheran Church with the Rev. Lynn Groe officiating. Burial was in the Oakland Cemetery with arrangements handled by Martin Funeral home. Casket bearers were his children and their spouses Sandy and Michael Shepard, Janel and Doug Whitehall, and Dr. Richard and Peggy Perry.

Robert Eugene Perry, son of Earl and Moss (Davis) Perry, was born August 5, 1915 in Battle Creek, Michigan. He graduated from Stillman Valley, Illinois High School in 1933. On June 15, 1946 he married Dorothy Walters at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Lindenwood, Illinois. He worked as a service technician for Redette Office Equipment Company in Rockford, Illinois for many years. He was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd while living in Rockford, Illinois. In August of 1996 he and Dorothy moved to Waukon to be near their son. They were members of the St. John's Lutheran Church in Waukon, Iowa.

Robert Eugene Perry died Friday December 4, 1998 at the Good Samaritan Center in Waukon, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Dorothy, and 2 brothers, Mark Perry and James Perry.

He is survived by his 2 daughters, Sandy (Michael) Shepard of Chillicothe, Illinois, and Janel (Doug) Whitehall of Glendale, Arizona and his son, Dr. Richard (Peggy) Perry of Waukon, Iowa; 9 grandchildren; a sister, Maxine Bailey of Houston, Texas, and a brother Warren (Betty) Perry of Dothan, Alabama.
