Funeral services for Paul James Schneider, age 61, of Waukon, Iowa, were held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, August 4 at Zion United Church of Christ in Waukon. The Rev. Henry Heinbuch officiated. Burial was in the Oakland Cemetery. Martin Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Casket bearers were Leon Sigwarth, Joe Sigwarth, Herb Rissman, Jack Marsden, Ralph Lyons, and Gene Knudtson. Honorary pallbearers were Paul Sherman, John Shafer, Otto Schuttemeier, and Robert Stuckman.

Paul James Schneider, son of Elias Jacob and Martha (Kaeser) Schneider, was born July 28, 1929 in Waukon, Iowa. He graduated from the Waukon High School and attended the Waukon Junior College for one year. On December 20, 1958 he married Jane Hansmeier in Waukon, Iowa. He was a farmer for 30 years. For the last five years he owned and operated Schneider's Furniture and Gift Shop. He was a member of Zion U.C.C.

Paul died Thursday, August 2, 1990 at his home in Waukon, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Lloyd Schneider.

He is survived by his wife, Jane; 3 daughters, Dawn Schneider of Owatonna, Minnesota, Linda (Brad) Winkie of Waukon, Iowa and Connie (Ken) Kurth of Rochester, Minnesota; 1 granddaughter; a brother Ray Schneider of Waukon, Iowa and 2 sisters, Cleoma (James) Smith of Des Moines, Iowa and Ruth (Russell) Solberg of Aurora, Illinois.
