Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. for Sharon Kay Kottman, age 50, at the St. Paul Lutheran Church at Monona, Iowa with Rev. Terry Hudson officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Schultz Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Casket bearers were Walter Ellefson, David Hansel, Greg Bernhard, Wayne Meyer, Russel Heins, and Charlie Bender. Honorary pallbearers were Curt Welch, Roland Linder, Wayne Mielke, Clarence Lucas, Jr., Stanley Marovets, and Jim Hinman.

Sharon Kay was born December 20, 1946 in New Albin, Iowa to Walter and Esther (Meyer) Neumann. She graduated from the Lansing High School. On September 6, 1969 she married Gary Kottman at the United Church of Christ in New Albin, Iowa. She died Tuesday, June 17, 1997 at Veteran's Memorial Hospital in Waukon, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her father, Walter Neumann.

Sharon is survived by her husband, Gary; 1 daughter, Jodi (Russel) Heins of Monona, Iowa, 2 sons, John Kottman and Jeremy Kottman, both of Monona, Iowa; her mother and step-father, Esther and Paul Breeser of New Albin, Iowa; 4 grandchildren; and 1 sister, Katherine (Denny) Nesheim of Waukon, Iowa.
