Wilma Evanson

Wilma L. Evanson, age 80, of Winona, MN died Thursday, February 10, 2011 at Winona Health in Winona, MN.
Wilma was born November 28, 1930 in Paint Creek Township, Allamakee County, to Clarence and Hazel (Lippe) Hanson. September 14, 1950 she was united in marriage with Honroe L. Evanson at Old West Paint Creek Church in Waterville. He preceded her in death August 1, 1987. She farmed with her husband until 1967 near Harpers Ferry.
Wilma liked to volunteer at Watkins Manor and the Winona Senior Friendship Center. She had a great sense of humor and enjoyed playing cards, BINGO, needlework and crafts. Wilma also liked to watch Lawrence Welk, Wheel of Fortune and The Price is Right on TV.
Wilma is survived by her children, Robert Evanson of Winona, MN, Betty Finley of Rochester, MN, Lucille (Chris) Halcro of Power, MT, and Carol (Gary) Whittle of Harpers Ferry; her grandchildren, Laura (Chad) Finley-Opicka, Krista Finley, Joshua (Stephanie) Halcro, Tiffany Halcro, Jesse (Leah) Whittle and Jenna Whittle; her great-grandchildren, Hudson and Skie; as well as other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband; her son, William Evanson; and a sister, Mildred.
A Funeral Service was held Saturday, February 12 in the Great Hall at Watkins Manor. The Rev. Dr. Caroline Garman, Chaplain, Winona Health, officiated. Wilma was laid to rest in Old East Paint Creek Lutheran Cemetery, rural Waterville.
