Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 7 for Wayne J. Runice, age 40, who died Saturday, July 4, 1987 at his home in Waukon, Iowa. The Rev. John Tiviton will officiate at the services to be held at the Thorsen Funeral Home in Viroqua, Wisconsin. Burial will be in West Prairie Haugen Cemetery with Martin Funeral Home of Waukon, Iowa in charge of arrangements. Casket bearers were Lyle Dee, Gary Hirth, Don Kruse, LaVerne Peterson, David Hogendorn, and Ted Godden. Honorary pallbearers were fellow employees of Wisconsin Dairies.

Wayne was born October 14, 1946 in Vernon County, Wisconsin to Jerald and Irene (Erickson) Runice. He attended Wisconsin schools and graduated from DeSoto, Wisconsin. On June 1, 1968 he married Sandra Leiran in Waukon, Iowa. He was a member of the St. John's Lutheran Church and an employee of Wisconsin Dairies since of 1967.

Surviving are three children, Shelly Runice, Heather Runice, and Jay Runice of Waukon, Iowa, his mother Mrs. Irene Runice of Retreat, Wisconsin; 2 brothers John Runice of Westby, Wisconsin and Arlen Runice of Viroqua, Wisconsin and 5 sisters, Mrs. James (Beatrice) Peterson of Ferryville, Wisconsin, Mrs. Alvin (Lyla) Hanson of Lansing, Iowa, Mrs. Charles (Jerrilynne) Waters of Waukon, Iowa, Mrs. Gary (Alma) Robertson of De Soto, Wisconsin, and Mrs. Dayle (Mardele) of Anderson of Ferryville, Wisconsin.
