Gottlieb Bellon, age 89, of New Albin, Iowa died Tuesday, March 29, 1988 in Caledonia Health Care Center. Services were held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, April 1 in St. John's United Church of Christ. The Rev. Lane Zaffke officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery. Haugen-Roble Funeral Home, Caledonia, Minnesota was in charge of arrangements. Casket bearers were Donald, John and Kenneth Imm, Terry Denstad, Rick Denstad, and Gerald Bellon.

Gottlieb was born November 22, 1898 in Germany. On July 26, 1940 he married Verona Schulze in Hampton, Iowa. He attended the University of Minnesota School of Agriculture. In addition to being a resident of New Albin, he had also lived in Hutchinson and Eitzen, Minnesota where he worked as a buttermaker. He was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Wheatland, rural New Albin, Iowa where he served on the church council. He had also served on the New Albin school board and the city council.

He was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.

Survivors are his wife, Verona and a son Flornn of Gautier, Mississippi; 5 grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
