Willard J. Goeke, age 62, died Tuesday, March 18, 1986 at his rural Waukon, Iowa home. Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, March 21 at the Zion United Church of Christ with the Rev. Henry Heinbuch officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery with Martin Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Casketbearers are Darrell Snitker, Virgil Snitker, Robert Snitker, James Bieber, Paul Promnitz, John Pladsen, Greg Cutin, and Fred Fisher.

A lifetime area resident, Willard was born June 2, 1923 to John and Sophia (Peters) Goeke. He attended Waukon High School. He married Sharon Rubendall on October 27, 1979 at Forest Mills Church. He was a farmer, a member of the Holstein Breeders Association and the Zion United Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife, 2 sons, Randy Brainard of Louisiana and Scott Brainard of Waukon, Iowa; 3 daughters Dixie Schnuelle of Postville, Iowa, Mrs. Tony (Janet) Wennes of Decorah, Iowa and Mrs. Lee (Lori) Rolfe of Guttenberg, Iowa; 5 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters, Mrs. Lawrence (Helen) Snitker of Waukon, Iowa, Mrs. James (Wilma) Curtin of Wyoming, Iowa and Harriet Low of Scotch Grove, Iowa.
