Leslie P. Anderson, age 87, died Friday, August 28, 1987 at the Good Samaritan Center in Waukon, Iowa. Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, August 31 at Waterville Lutheran Church with Pastor Peter Samuelson officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery with Martin Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Casket bearers were Gilman Kolsrud, Ed Liddiard, Mervin Hilleshiem, Norman Thorsen, Gene Sickels, and Norman Leiran.

Leslie was born October 3, 1899 in Waterville, Iowa to Jacob and Caroline (Iverson) Anderson. He attended Waterville grade school and Burlington, Kansas High School. He received a degree in electrical contracting from Iowa State University, Ames, Iowa. On December 10, 1927 he married Sylvia Damon in Des Moines, Iowa. He had done some general farming. He was a member of the Waterville, Iowa Church. He had been baptized and confirmed at the East Paint Creek Synond Lutheran Church. He had played the violin for about 15 years with a group of friends, entertaining at area nursing home and the county care facility. He also enjoyed fishing.

He is survived by his wife, Sylvia; a daughter Mrs. Gene (Ruth) Geilenfeld of Rudd, Iowa; 2 grandchildren, Linda Schaefer of Mason City, Iowa and Steve Geilenfeld of San Diego, California; a sister, Mrs. Ethel O'Connell of Lynwood, California and a brother Raymond Anderson of Burlington, Kansas.
