Funeral services were held Saturday, August 29 from At. Ann's Church in Harpers Ferry for Hulda Dorothea Martell, age 96, of Harpers Ferry, Iowa who died Tuesday, August 25, 1987 at the Good Samaritan Center in Waukon, Iowa. Casket bearers were Bob Valley, Robert Askelson, Thomas Traversey, Robert Cota, William Wilson, and Edwin Shinners. Hanson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Father Duane Raftis officiated at the servicves and burial was in the St. Joseph's Cemetery in Harpers Ferry, Iowa.

Hulda was born April 14, 1891 in Davenport, Iowa, a daughter of Julius and Dorothea (Sparbel) Koltzau. She and Otto W. Martell were married October 12, 1915 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Davenport, Iowa. They lived in Davenport in addition to Harpers Ferry, Iowa. Otto preceded her in death. She is survived by a sister, Elsie McLeaney.
