Funeral services were held Monday, January 20 at 10:30 a.m. from Hanson Funeral Home in Waukon, Iowa for Magna E. (Milde) Angell, age 95, of Harpers Ferry, Iowa, who died Thursday, January 16, 1986 at the Good Samaritan Center in Waukon, Iowa. Casket bearers were David Flage, John Goettel, Willard Kerndt, Harlan Schellhammer, Verdon Swenson, and Ray Zwanziger. Hanson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Pastor Judd Larson officiated at the funeral service with burial in Oakland Cemetery.

Magna was born February 4, 1890 in Norway, a daughter of Frederik and Anna (Hanson) Milde. She attended grade school in Norway. After coming to America, she took Americanization classes in Chicago, Illinois, becoming a naturalized American Citizen in 1932. She and Paul Angell, Sr. were married July 19, 1913 in New Jersey. She was a nurse's aide and homemaker. She was a former member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church of Chicago and a sister church of Old East and Old West Paint Creek Churches in rural Waterville, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul, a son Paul Angell, Jr., brothers, Fred Milde, Jr., Hroar Milde, Rolf Milde and William Milde, and sisters Frida, Inga, and Edith.

Surviving are two sons, Roy Angell of Illinois, and Earl Angell of Harpers Ferry, Iowa, 2 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and 3 sisters in Norway, Kristen, Aase, and Nini.
