Reva Doerring, age 85, died Saturday, April 26, 1986 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon, Iowa. Services were held Monday, April 28 at 10 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Larry Olson officiating. Burial was in Oakland Cemetery with Hanson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Casket bearers were Jim Campbell, John Campbell, Bob Curtin, Mike Burke, Cletus Rooney, and Francis Martin.

Reva was born July 16, 1900 in Allamakee County, Iowa to John and Elizabeth (Segrist) Gilson. She married Arno Doerring on June 17, 1975 in LaCrosse, Wisconsin. She had lived in Postville, Iowa and Waukon, Iowa. She was a member of the Rebecca Lodge and the First Presbyterian Church.

She was preceded in death by four brothers, Albert Gilson, Orrie Gilson, John Gilson, and Fred Gilson; 2 sisters, Lucy Swenson and Dot Kolden; and 3 grandchildren.

She is survived by 4 daughters, Evelyn Hanson, Lena Duball, Elizabeth Schwartzhoff, and Lorraine Steoger, and a son Richard Steiber.
