Pearl J. Schluntz, age 91, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa died Wednesday, March 8, 1989 at the Good Samaritan Center in Waukon, Iowa. Funeral services were held Saturday, March 11 at 11 a.m. at Chapel of Memories at Cedar Memorial Park in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The Rev. Paul Widen officiated with burial in Cedar Memorial Park, Cedar Memorial Funeral Home of Cedar Rapids, Iowa was in charge of arrangements.

Pearl was born November 20, 1897 in Bridgeton, New Jersey to John M. and Martha E. (Eyerman) Johnson. She grew up in New Jersey and attended Bridgeton schools through eighth grade. On June 10, 1920 she married Christian B. Schluntz in Bridgeton, New Jersey. They moved to Cedar Rapids, Iowa after their marriage. She was a seamstress with Kriz Tent and Awning in Cedar Rapids for many years. She was a member of Valley View Baptist Church, Cedar Rapids Council of PTA, and Trainman Auxiliary. She was noted for making Christmas decorations.

Preceding her in death were her husband, who died March 17, 1968* He is listed in the Linn County Cemetery Index as dying on March 18, 1968.*; 4 brothers, George, John, Richard, and Leon Johnson; and 3 sisters, Mattie, Mabel, and Annie.

Surviving is a daughter, Marice, Mrs. James Kruger of rural Waukon, Iowa.
