Marjorie A. Miller, age 59, Waukon, Iowa died at her home Thursday, July 28, 1988. Funeral services were set for 11 a.m. from St.John's Lutheran Church in Waukon, with burial in Oakland Cemetery. The Rev. Lynn Groe conducted services, and Martin Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Casket bearers were her 3 sons, Mark Miller, John Miller, and Joel Miller, and Allen Goeke, Wayne Flack, and Kermit Miller.

Marjorie was born July 14, 1929 in rural Postville, Iowa, the third daughter of John and Adelia (Dickman) Bareis. She was a graduate of Postville High School and before her marriage, she was employed as a bookkeeper at a furniture store in Postville, Iowa and clerk at the Farmer's Store in Postville. She was a member and past officer of Farm Bureau Women, member of N.E. Iowa Quilter's Guild, and was active in various women's groups of St.John's Lutheran Church in Waukon, Iowa.

She married Frederick L. Miller on June 9, 1948 in Postville, Iowa. He survives as do their sons, Mark, John, and Joel along with 10 grandchildren. A daughter, Ruth Elaine (Miller) Palmer died in 1984. Also surviving are two brothers, Willard and Art Bareis of Postville, Iowa.
