Funeral services for Carl F. Brandsmeier, age 78, were held Monday August 1 at 2 p.m. at Zion United Church of Christ with the Rev. Dean Shelly officiating. Martin Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Burial was in Oakland cemetery. Honorary casket bearers were Melvin Steffenson, Nelson Sherman, Donus Dee and Henry Miene. Casket bearers were Lynn Stock, Pete Bieber, LeRoy Nolting, John Dougherty, Robert J. Stock, and Lyle Stock.

Carl died July 28, 1988 at St.Francis Hospital in LaCrosse, Wisconsin. He was born September 9, 1909 in rural Waukon, Iowa to Henry and Mathilda (Christ) Brandsmeier. On February 9, 1953 he married Hilda Hackman in Waukon, Iowa. Carl graduated from Waukon High School, attended Waukon Junior College and was a member of Zion United Church of Christ. He was a farmer and a custom farm operator.

Survivors include his wife, 2 sisters, Lois Brandsmeier and Mildred, Mrs. Ervin Miene of Waukon, Iowa; 2 nephews and one niece.
