Contributor: Connie Ellis (Not related)Tuesday, September 26 funeral services were held for Emma Kostman at 9 a.m. in St.Patrick's Catholic Church in Waukon, Iowa with Father Ed Lechtenberg officiating. Burial was in St.Paul's Cemetery in Worthington, Iowa. Hanson Funeral Home, Waukon was in charge of arrangements.
Emma died Sunday, September 24, 1989 at the age of 74 in St. Francis Hospital in LaCrosse, WI. She was born September 19, 1915 in Worthington, Iowa to Peter and Lena (Hostert) Berger. On April 10, 1939 she married Elmer Kostman in Dubuque, Iowa.
She owned and operated Powder Puff Beauty Salon in Waukon for many years and was a member of St.Patrick's Catholic Church in Waukon.
Survivors include her husband Elmer, a son William R. Kostman of St.Louis, Missouri; a brother, George Burger of Postville, Iowa and two grandchildren, W. Christopher Kostman and Amy Kostman.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Doris Burger Gibbs. Casket bearers were Leonard Feuerhelm, Paul Kostman, Roy Shaffer, Gerry, James, and Keith Burger.
