Roy Wiemerslage, Sr. of Elmhurst, Illinois, died Friday, August 25, 1989 at the Elmhurst Memorial Hospital. He was the son of the late Fred and Frieda (Gade) Wiemerslage of Eitzen, MN and was born July 11, 1922 on the family farm in rural Eitzen. He was a veteran of WWII and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and its color guard.

On August 25, 1945 he married Leatrice "Lee" Marie Weitz at Eitzen. They moved to Elmhurst where he worked as a plant manager for 38 years at the Elmhurst College. Since his retirement, he spent numerous hours doing woodcarving and wood burning.

Mr. Wiemerslage is survived by a daughter, JoAnn Congdon of Lombard, Illinois; a son Roy L. Wiemerslage, Jr., Woodridge, Illinois; two grandchildren; three sisters, Erma Wenig of Dorchester, Iowa, Edna Wiemerslage of Eitzen and Mable Nosbisch of New Hampton, Iowa and a brother, Norman of New Albin, Iowa.

Preceding him in death were his wife, Leatrice, two sisters, Lillian Hansmeier and Ruby Monson, and a brother Raymond. Funeral services were held August 28 at Chapel Hill Gardens West, Elmhurst, Illinois.* Burial place was not listed.*
