Steve John Mulholland, age 46 of Lansing, died Friday, Nov. 24, 2000 after a battle with diabetes, kidney and heart problems while waiting for a transplant. Funeral services were held Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2000 at Immaculate Conception Church in Lansing, with Fr. Daniel Knipper officiating. Interment was in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Steve was born June 30, 1954 to Everett and Barbara (Whalen) Mulholland in Waukon. He married Lorie Libke in December of 1979 and was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church in Lansing.
He was a volunteer for the Lansing Fire Department, and he worked as an operator for the Lansing Power Plant and also worked as a mechanic fixing cars and John Deere tractors, like his father. He was last employed as a tool and die maker.

He loved his daughter, April, and enjoyed and loved his grandchildren immensely. He also loved Ford cars, the Minnesota Vikings, and working with motors.

Steve is survived by his ex-wife, Lorie Gage of Lansing; his daughter April (Greg) McQuade of New Albin and two granddaughters, Aubreanna and Sidney; and his mother Barbara Mulholland of Lansing, all of whom he loved dearly. He is also survived by his three brothers, Terry (Karen) Mulholland of Waukon, Jeff (Joy) Mulholland of Mooresville, NC, and Danny (Kathy) Mulholland of Lansing; five sisters, Cheri (Maynard) Sandy of Ferryville, WI, Sandy (Richard) Gramlich of Prairie du Chien, WI, Cathy (Bruce) Bowers of Waterloo, Mary (Jack) Martell of LaCrosse, WI, and Becky (Mike) Bailey of Lansing.

He was preceded in death by his father, Everett (Fats) Mulholland.

Steve will be sadly missed by his family and friends and will forever be remembered in their hearts. God bless him and may he go in peace.
Casketbearers were Roy McKee, Tom Baker, Chuck Brown, Tom Gage, John Gage, John Keenan, Fred Rethwisch and Tom Rethwisch. Honorary casketbearers were Jim Wellendorf, Barney Diersen, Bob Kious, Bob Leppert and John Dunlevy.
Thornburg-Hanson Funeral Home assisted the family.
