Services for Chester A. Farley, 76, formerly of Lansing and recently living in Dewitt, will be at 10:30 A.M. at the Immaculate Conception Church in Lansing. The Rev. Herbert Tegeler will officiate and burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery. Friends may call at the Burke-Thornburg Funeral Home in Lansing after 4:00 P.M. Friday, May 13. Rosary will be at 7:00 P.M. Friday.
Chester died Tuesday, May 10, 1988 at St. Lukes Hospital, Davenport, IA.
He was born February 23, 1912 in McGregor, IA, to Frank and Caroline (Meyer) Farley. He grew up and attended school in Harpers Ferry. He worked as a farmer in the Harpers Ferry in early years and worked from 1959 to his retirement with Carlson Construction Co. of Decorah.
Survivors are his wife Anna; three sisters, Ruth Hawes of Harpers Ferry, Hester O'Brian and Mary Goodrich of Rockford, IL; three daughters, Janet of Cedar Rapids, Judy Stahl of Iowa City, and Jean Yeoman of Lansing; three sons, James of Decorah, Jerry of Santa Maria, CA and Donald of Dewitt, IA; 19 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
