Mrs. James Mooney passed away at her home on upper Main St. late last Wednesday following a long and severe illness with a heart ailment. She was born November 8, 1880 as Ann Madden, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Timothy Madden, early day residents of Wexford. As a young lady, she became an expert seamstress which she followed for years until her marriage to Hugh Conway in Spokane, Wash., in 1909. They made their home there and were the parents of two sons. Leo of Kamrath Falls, Oregon; Hugh of Harpers Ferry and one daughter, Kathleen, Mrs. Eugene Weil of Racine, Wis., and moved back to Lansing during the first World War. Mr. Conway passed away in 1918.
On July 22, 1932, she was married to James Mooney, who with the three children mourn the loss of a loving wife and mother. Other survivors include 11 grandchildren and preceding her in death besides her parents were four brothers and two sisters. The funeral services were held from Immaculate Conception Church at Lansing on Saturday morning with Msgr. Henry Scharphoff delivering the consoling sermon to bereaved relatives and friends and Father Beelner offering the Mass of Requiem and saying the final prayers at the graveside at Gethsemane where burial was made. Honorary pallbearers from the Rosary Society were Mesdames Gene Brennen, Robert Guider, Cyril Hurm, John Howard, Leo Krieger and Miss. Veronica Beck. Casket bearers were Grandsons, Dan Weil, Jim, Joe and Leo Conway, Ray Mooney and Mickey Joe Madden.
