Funeral services for Andrew E. Sherbonda were held from Martin Bros. Funeral Home on Monday afternoon at 2 p.m. with Pastor David R. Vaaler officiating. Mr. Sherbonda passed away on March 9 at the University Hospitals, Iowa City.
Andrew Edward Sherbonda was born March 3, 1903 in Allamakee county, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Sherbonda. He had lived in this county until 1945, since which time he has been a resident of Davenport. He was married in 1936 in Waukon to Thelma Kesselberg, who survives. There is one son, Robert Sherbonda, Davenport; and three step-children, Dorothy, Mrs. Arthur Sawbell, Wollcot; Donald Zeal, Buffalo; and Norrene, Mrs. Harry McCrystal, Baldwin Park, Calif. There are eighteen grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. Also two sisters, Mrs. Velva Horgeshimer, Liverne (sic) Minn. and Mary, Mrs Albert Sawbell, Davenport. Interment was in the Smithfield cemetery.
