Services for Charles Edger Hille Langland, who died Nov. 24, 1989 at the Lutheran Hospital, LaCrosse, WI, were held Nov. 28 at St. John's Lutheran Church with burial at the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Spring Grove. Rev. Lynn Groe conducted the services. The Martin Brothers Funeral Home, Waukon, was in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers were Arnold Onsager, Ralph Grotegut, Bernard King, Bernard Snitker, Truman Wurtzel and Ed Lenth.

He was born June 27, 1921 to Charley M. and Clara E. (Hille) Langland. He attended Winneshiek County rural elementary school and Spring Grove High School. He married A. Lois Nesheim on August 25, 1946 at the Trinity Lutheran Church, Spring Grove, MN. They lived a short time in Highlandville, Mabel and then moved to Waukon in 1956.

He worked 33 years as a buttermaker, lab tech and field rep for Wisconsin Dairies Creamery in Waukon, previous to that he had a cream route near Highlandville. He won many awards for buttermaking including being State Fair winner in both Wisconsin and Iowa and 1989 winner of Distinguished Services Award given at the Allamakee County Dairy Days. He belonged to the Switzerland of Iowa Harmonizers and a current member of church council as a trustee at the St. John's Lutheran Church, Waukon.

He is survived by his wife, Lois, 3 sons: David of Bridgeport, CT, Charles and Bruce of Decorah; 3 daughters: Connie Witkowski of LaGrange Park, IL, Linda Langland of Iowa City and Joan Langland of High Point, NC; 3 grandchildren; 4 brothers: Maurice and Walter of Spring Grove, MN; Richard of Waukon; Joseph of Amherst, MA; 2 sisters: Lois Langland of Claremont, CA and Norma Bothell of Menlo Park, CA.

He is preceded in death by a sister Corrine Hexom and a brother Harold Langland.
