Services Held Tuesday For Florence Ferring

Mrs. Florence Ferring, 84, of Waukon, died Sunday, Aug. 19.

The daughter of Ben and Elizabeth(Schreiber)Haas, she was born in Waukon, May 20, 1900. She and Leo M. Ferring were married in 1922 at Lycurgus Church and they lived in rural Lansing and Waukon, moving to the city of Waukon in 1962. Mrs. Ferring was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, St. Theresa's Club of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, and the Waukon Senior Citizens.

She is survived by four daughters; Mrs. Lawrence(Rita)Ward of Waukon, Mrs. John(Jeanne)Bresnahan of Clinton, Mrs. Dale(Cecilia)Bublitz of Mason City, and Mrs. James(Virginia)Moore of New Albin; two sons, William P. Ferring of Waukon and the Rev. Robert Ferring of Marion; 37 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Ferring was predeceased by her husband who died in 1972; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Zieman of Mason City, Mrs. Anna Dougherty and Gertie Troendle; and a brother, Joseph Haas.

Funeral services were held at St. Patrick's Church Tuesday morning, Aug. 21 at 10 a.m. conducted by Rev. Robert Ferring and Rev. Albert Manternach. Burial was in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Hanson's Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers were Leo Conway, Bernard Dougherty, Ralph Dougherty, Vincent Haas, Cyril Troendle, and James Troendle.
