Leonard Pearson

Funeral services for Leonard Victor Pearson were held Monday, June 5 at Garden City United Methodist Church, Monona, at 11 a.m. Rev. Gary Dobbins officiated. Organist was Rick Benzing and soloist was Pat Densdale. Burial was in the Postville City Cemetery. Schultz's Funeral Home, Monona, in charge of arrangements.

He was born October 2, 1898, on a farm near Postville, IA. His parents were Richard and Alice Smith Pearson.

On Sept. 1, 1926 he married Mabel Swenson at Waukon. They had one son. He was a farmer and truck driver. The couple made their home in Monona.

He died Friday, June 2, 1989, at Veterans Memorial Hospital, Waukon. He was a member of Garden City United Methodist Church, Monona.

Preceding him in death were his parents, one brother, 3 sisters and 3 nephews.

Surviving is his wife, Mabel; one son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Donna Pearson, Ft. Dodge, IA; 2 grandsons and their spouses, Tracy and Mark Walk and Eric and Lynette Pearson, all of Iowa City; one great-granddaughter, Allison Walk; and one nephew and two nieces.

Pallbearers: David Schlitter, Harland Kottman, Bob Melcher, Charles Brau, Emmett Gunderson and Milo Timmerman.
