RALPH VICTOR PEARSON

Funeral services for Ralph Pearson were held Monday, January 26, 1987 at 10:30 a.m. at the Community Presbyterian Church in Postville. The Reverend Terrance Hennesy officiated. The Schutte Funeral Service of Postville was in charge of arrangements. Interment was in the Postville Cemetery.

Ralph Victor Pearson, son of Lloyd A. and Grace (Hinman) Pearson, was born May 1, 1921 in Grand Meadow Township, Clayton County, Iowa. He died Thursday, January 22, 1987 at his home, rural Postville.

He attended the Luana School. On June 18, 1954 he was married to Melvina Nuehring in the Little Brown Church at Nashua, Iowa by the Rev. Glenn L. Utterback. To this union, a son, Ricky, was born. They farmed on the Pearson family farm all of their life. For eight years, Ralph was employed by the Sawyer Sawmill at Monona. He retired in 1983.

He is preceded in death by his parents, a son, Ricky, who died June 13, 1981, and one brother, Roger, who died in 1980.

He is survived by his wife, Melvina, a daughter-in-law, Gwen, of Monona, and four grandchildren, Kimberly, Kenneth and Kelly Pearson and Jeremiah Brainard, an uncle, Leonard Pearson, and two nieces, Janice Grout and Judy Boebel.

Ralph became a member of the Community Presbyterian Church in 1962.

Casket bearers: Matthew Colsch, Willard Sander, Erin Yauslin, Richard Brainard, Larry Boebel, Terry Larason.
