Mrs. FRED (Zelma Lawson) SEGRIST

Mrs. Segrist Is Interred Sunday

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 2:00 at the Community Presbyterian Church for Mrs. Fred Segrist, 65, who passed away at Postville Hospital on Thursday.

Rev. Walter T. Martin was in charge. Burial was in the Postville Cemetery.

Zelma Lawson, daughter of William and Bertha(Roffman) Lawson, was born March 1, 1886 in Franklin township, Postville. She passed away Thursday, December 6, 1951 at the Postville Community Hospital at the age of 65 years.

Zelma Marie Lawson was married at her home to Fred Segrist on May 1, 1904. To this union twin daughters, Bessie and Bertha, were born on September 16, 1908.

Surviving are her husband, two daughters, Mrs. Larry Ewing (Bessie) and Mrs. George Ewing (Bertha), both of Postville, two sisters, Mrs. Louie Peterson of Waukon, Mrs. Mike Weber of Cedar Rapids, five brothers, Leonard Lawson of Waukon, John Lawson of Harshaw, Wisconsin, Sherman Lawson, Fred Lawson and Frank Lawson, all of Postville, five grandchildren, Mrs. Eugene Mork (Lola), Mrs. Duane Wedo (Lavon), Mrs. Gaile Watson (Inez), Darlene Ewing and Pvt. Gene Ewing of Fort Eustis, Virginia, and one great grandchild Randal Mork.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Elmer.

Mrs. Fred Segrist attended the United Brethern Church at Forest Mills where she often helped with the church work.

She lived a splendid life in unselfish devotion to her home as a faithful wife and loving mother.
