Funeral services were held Nov. 4 at Mills Chapel with the Rev. jack Shamburger officiating. Graveside services were held Friday, Nov. 5, 1999 at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Steele, MO.

Born June 19, 1911, she was the daughter of Cleveland Justice and Minnie Ethel (White) McCormick. She was raised on a cotton farm in Holland, MO, and while growing up, was a dedicated student and had a long range goal of achieving a career in the field of education.

After nearly 38 years of teaching, they retired in Carlsbad, NM and then to be closer to relatives, they moved to Timber Lake Estates in McAlester in 1973.

Upon the death of her husband, she moved to Burgundy Place and later moved to Van Buren House. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of McAlester.
