Mrs. Arlene Johanna Kehrli, 66, died May 2, 2001 at her residence in Tulare, California. She was born in Garnavillo, Iowa on January 10, 1935, to Eugene and Regina Berns. Arlene graduated from Postville High School, Postville, Iowa and moved to Tulare, California where she was a homemaker for 39 years. She was a member of St. Rita's Catholic Church and the Altar Society, and a volunteer at the Tulare District Hospital.

She is survived by two daughters, Karen (Randy) Mitchell of Akron, Ohio, and Patricia (Stephen) Wager of Lexington, Kentucky; one son, Steve Kehrli and K. C. Price of San Francisco, CA; three brothers, Roger Berns of Soldiers Grove, WI, Robert Berns of Grants Pass, OR, and Gerald Berns of LaCrescent, MN; four sisters, Jean Ann Radloff of Postville, IA, Sister Geneva Berns, O.S.F. of Rochester, MN, Lois Berns of St. Paul, MN, and Bernice Berns of St. Cloud, MN; three grandchildren, Ellen and Natalie Mitchell of Akron, OH, David Wager of Lexington, KY; significant friends, Ned and Carolyn Kehrli. She will also be dearly missed by her dog, Lucky.

Arlene was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Regina Berns.

Praying of the Rosary was held at Miller's Tulare Funeral Home, Tulare, California, on Friday, May 4, led by the St. Rita's Altar Society. Following Rosary there was a Memorial Wake Service led by Sister Geneva Berns, sister of Arlene. Mass of the Resurrection was held at St. Rita's Catholic Church, Tulare, on Saturday, May 5. Celebrant of the Mass was Father Timothy N. Cardoza of St. Rita's Catholic Church. Private graveside services will be held at the Tulare District Cemetery at a later date.
