Paul T. Kostman, 86, was born to William and Helena (Reutkemeier) Kostman, May 14, 1905, in Ludlow Township, Allamakee County. He died Thursday, September 5, 1991, at the Good Samaritan Center in Waukon, IA.

He received his education at the rural Ludlow #7 Elementary School. His parents moved to town when he was 12. He stayed on the farm with his brothers. Later he bought the farm and stayed there with his family until moving to Waukon in 1979. He was a member of Zion United Church of Christ, Waukon, IA.

He was married to Dora Cooper August 22, 1928, at the Baptist parsonage in Waukon by the Rev. Powers. They had four children.

Preceding him in death were his parents; a son Paul in 1990; two grandchildren; John and Julie, five brothers; William, John, Otto, Edward and Elmer; and two sisters, Clara Shafer and Emma Rolfs.

Survivors include his wife, Dora Kostman, Waukon; two daughters: Delores (Mrs. Neil) Howe, Bangor, WI and Caryl (Mrs. Gary) Leiran of Postville, IA; a son, Delmar (Janet) Kostman of Harpers Ferry, IA; a daughter-in-law, Betty Kostman of Postville, IA; 16 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.

Funeral services were held Saturday, September 7, 1991, 11:00 a.m., at Zion United Church of Christ, Waukon, with the Rev. Henry Heinbuch officiating. Pallbearers were Daniel White, Raymond Shafer, Emmett Kruger, Charles Rolfs, William Kostman and Gale Block. Burial was in Oakland Cemetery. Martin Funeral Home, Waukon, IA was in charge of the services.
