Obituary

Joseph Schreiber was born in Switzerland February 12, 1835 and died at his home two miles north of this city, September 19, 1916, aged 81 years, after a short illness. He came to the United States in 1855. On April 16, 1866, he was united in marriage with Miss Elizabeth Kasser, who survives him, with five children; Mrs. Peter Larson of Lansing, Mrs. Benjamin Haas of Waukon, Mrs. Ferdinand Haas of Lycurgus, and Misses Anna and Emma at home.

The funeral services were in German and English conducted by Rev. Fladderjohann and the remains interred in the German cemetery.

April 16th, this year, Mr. and Mrs. Schreiber celebrated their golden wedding anniversary and resided on the old homestead all of this time.
