Thursday Morning, December 7, 1939Miss Emma Kaeser Dies At Age of 88 Years
Friends of Miss Emma Kaeser who had known and loved her for years, grieved to learn that she passed away Saturday at her home in this city from the infirmities of age.
A daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Kaeser, she was born at Canton Bern, Switzerland, March 29, 1851. The family came to Dubuque in 1854 and the following year to Village Creek, thence to the Kaeser homestead north of Waukon where she resided until 1903 when Waukon became her home. There were three sisters who lived together, Emma and Caroline, deceased, and Anna who survives and is assured of the sympathy of friends in her sorrow and loneliness.
Funeral services were held Monday after at Zion Reformed Church conducted by Rev. F.E.Stucki. Burial took place in Oakland Cemetery. The casket bearers were Clarence Haas; Milton, Ray, and Lloyd Schneider; John Dougherty; and Gordon Haas.
