Funeral services were conducted in the Community Presbyterian Church, Postville at 10:30 a.m. Friday, January 23 for Mrs. Louis Koevenig who died Tuesday, January 20 at the Lutheran Hospital, LaCrosse, Wisconsin. The Rev. Dick Harberts officiated.

Mildred, the daughter of Carlos James and Emma Thoma Harrington, was born on a farm near Elgin, August 21, 1894. She attended rural and public schools in Elgin and after graduation attended summer sessions at Cedar Falls and Fayette. She taught rural schools near Elgin and in grade Schools in Elgin, Waucoma, Oran Consolidated and Garrison.

Married to Louis Koevenig July 19, 1926 she spent her married life in Postville where she was active in business until retirement.

She was a 50-year member and Past Matron of Eastern Star and a member of the Community Presbyterian Church, Postville.

Preceding her in death were her parents, two sisters: Mae and Mrs. Roy (Elva) Scoles; two brothers: Elmer and Warren.

Survivors include her husband Louis; her son, James of Oveido, Florida; a sister, Mrs. W. J. (Ethel) Kohler of Wilton, Iowa; two grandchildren; Kimberly and Kurt Koevenig and other relatives.

Interment was in the Postville Cemetery.
