Services were held Sunday, February 11 at 2:30 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Postville, for Gustav A. H. Kregel who died February 8 at his home in Postville. The Rev. Norman Ullestad officiated.

Gustav August Heinrick Kregel, son of Fred Kregel and his wife Pauline Rodwedder, was born December 17, 1892 at Guttenberg, Iowa. He was baptized and confirmed in St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Guttenberg by Pastor J. Janzig. Mr. Kregel was received into membership in St. Paul Lutheran Church, Postville on June 10, 1945.

At the age of 18 Mr. Kregel moved to South Dakota and worked there for three years, then moved to Floyd, Iowa.

On October 17, 1922 he was united in marriage to Martha Voelz and to this union four sons were born.

The couple began farming near Monona and farmed in the Monona and Luana area until 1957 when they moved to Postville. He continued to be active with farm work, however, until this past year.

A son Gerald died in infancy. Surviving are his wife, Martha, three sons, Gordon of Postville; Eldon of Luana and Donald of Monona; 15 grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Hilda Johnson of Nashua, many nieces and nephews.

Burial was in the Lutheran Cemetery, Monona.
