Funeral services for Viola Kratz were held Saturday, Jan. 9, 10:30 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, Hampton, Ia.

Viola was born July 22, 1904 at Lockwood, Missouri to parents Ernest and Mathilda Larson Brandt. She was baptized in the Lutheran faith. After the death of her mother she was raised in the Clermont-Postville area.

November 13, 1924 she married Grover Harris, they had 3 children, LaVerne, Robert and Ruth. They farmed north of Latimer until 1952 when they moved to Hampton. Grover died in July of 1959. Viola married Howard Kratz on Easter Sunday, 1961. He died in February, 1972. She was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Lutheran Women's Missionary League and the Hampton Cemetery Society.

Preceding her in death were her husbands, 2 sons, LaVerne and Robert Harris; 3 half-brothers, Raymond, Otto and Gilbert Brandt; a grandson and a great granddaughter.

She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Ruth Roberts, Cedar Falls; 2 half-brothers, Ernie Brandt, Postville and Verni Brandt, Clermont; a half-sister, Mrs. Mabel Topp, El Cajon, California, 12 grandchildren and 23 great grandson.
