Services Held For Charles H. Ohloff

Funeral services were conducted at St. Paul Lutheran Church Tuesday, August 16 at 10:30 a.m. for Charles Henry Ohloff who died Friday, August 12. The Rev. Norris Swenson officiated.

Born June 16, 1894, near Postville, Charles was the son of Charles W. and Mary Krogman Ohloff. Baptized October 14, 1894 by Pastor Neumann and confirmed April 4, 1909 by Pastor Schmidt, Mr. Ohloff was a lifelong member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Postville.

August 18, 1928 he was married to Velma Schultz. They farmed near Frankville, then Mr. Ohloff was custodian at the Postville schools and worked in construction. He was also a beekeeper.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Dewey and two sisters, Mrs. Charles (Louise) Meyer and Mrs. Glen (Geneva) Nichols.

Survivors include his wife, Velma; his son William of Castalia; his daughter Mrs. James (Kathleen) Koevenig of Oveledo, Florida; eight grandchildren, one great grandchild and two sisters, Mrs. Clara Oeltjenbruns of Charles City and Mrs. Redena Klinkenberg, Dubuque.

Interment was in the Postville cemetery.
